Note to Parents

 Good Morning,

Tomorrow I will not be in school. I am not traveling anywhere! I am having a rescheduled medical procedure. I am sorry I will not be in school tomorrow but the class will be in good hands. Mr. Fitzgerald will be my substitute, he is more than capable. I will be back in school on Monday. If you try to email me I may not see your email until Sunday, because of the procedure I may be down for a few days. If you need anything just contact the office and they will be more than happy to help you. Have a nice weekend.

Virtual Learning Helpful Hints for Parents

Virtual Learning Helpful Hints for Parents                                November 17

Parents,

I know this might be a little early, but I want to get a jump on things going into the week after Thanksgiving. I am still going back and forth with what to send home next week as far as materials are concerned. I have reached out to some of my virtual parents and with their help I have provided everyone with some helpful hints for when we go virtual on November 30 and December 1. I will let you know what materials are need by Monday, November 23. I hope these hints help!

Below are some thoughts and advice from myself and parents who have experienced virtual learning this year.

  • Look at the Virtual Schedule a couple days ahead of time 11/28 or 11/29

  • Have materials ready for the week: materials: paper, pencils, workbooks, copybook, textbook, crayon, colored pencils, headphones, etc.

  • Have a quiet distraction free place to work. Students should not be laying on beds, away from your pets, TV, toys, and other family members

  • Wear your required uniform daily

  • Check the Wifi connection before you start class to make sure it is a strong connection, and make sure the PC is fully charged and have a plug ready to plug in PC when it is low on battery

  • Check your child’s computer volume, and practice muting and unmuting

  • Have a copy of your child’s passwords, if you don’t have them reach out to me by 11/29/20

  • Display a copy of your child's schedule in this packet somewhere for everyone to see

  • Office Hours will be established for the end of each day for students and parents to ask questions about the daily work. Office Hours 2-3pm

  •  If you need to get a hold of me during virtual learning class. Email me or text me and I will get back to when the school day is over or you can wait until I answer you at the daily office hours I have available during the day.

  • Remind your child that virtual school is like being at school, but from home.  The same behavior is expected. They should be respectful of the teacher and classmates. They should be muted at all times (unless they need to ask a question), and not allowed to eat, drink, change backgrounds or turn -off their cameras.

  • Stay with your child until they have successfully joined the class (for the first day). We expect all kids to be logged in no later than by 8:30am . Plan to join early on your first day.

  • If things go wrong and you can’t connect, call me at 610-587-7440 and leave a message or text me just make sure you leave your name. I will get back to you immediately.

Additional 7th Grade Buddy Information

 Dear Parents,

Anytime we meet with our buddies it will be either outside or virtually. Sorry for any confusion. I am juggling many things and sometimes I may miss something. Please understand I will never put your child at any unnecessary risk. We are postponing tomorrow's buddy meet and greet due to the poor weather forecast. We will try and reschedule for sometime next week. Have a great day.

7th Grade Buddy Update

 Dear Parents,

Please be patient this year with gossip that your child might hear from other students in other classes. I am aware some children were disappointed not to meet their 7th grade buddies yesterday. I am in communication with our buddy class teacher Ms. Quigley. We are working hard to find an appropriate and safe way to bring some of the fun connections the children would make with their buddies in the Upper grades. We are planning to meet our buddies on Friday at third period to do a fun socially distant activity with them. I hope this clears up any concerns you may have going forward.

Thanks,

Mr. G

Don't Forget

 Parents,

Please don't forget to have your children in their "Sunday Best" for the socially distant Christmas Concert Dress Rehearsal tomorrow morning in the church.
Thank you,
Mr. G

Update on tomorrow's mass

 Parents,

Anyone that chooses to not attend Mass tomorrow, here are the following options:

1. You can stay home until after Mass

2. If you come to school, they socially distance in the cafeteria until Mass is over

I hope this clarifies tomorrow's mass.

Mr. G

Important Information for this week

 Dear Parents,

I just want to clarify a few things regarding this week. I did not receive some of this information, until after our conferences or I would have let you know ahead of time.

  • Tomorrow is a school mass, Mrs. Loftus and Ms. Quigley thought it would be a good idea to invite our class because we are technically their buddies. We have done nothing with them this year and I think that is why Mrs. Loftus wants us to go to their Mass. We will be socially distanced in the church, but if you do not want your child going to Mass I completely understand. Mr. Tosti said he would figure something out for those who don’t want to go. I am not sure what that is as of right now. So we have a Mass tomorrow and if you want your child to go then when they show up tomorrow to class I will assume they are going to mass. If you don’t want them to go just email me so I can find coverage for them in the classroom. Sorry for this notice but it was delivered to me at the end of the day on Friday.

  • Wednesday is Veteran Day. We will be making cards for a few of our class relatives, if you have someone in your family who is a veteran just let me know, I would love to honor them in some way.

  • Thursday the children need to be dressed in their Sunday best for the Christmas Concert practice over in the church.

  • This week is our practice of the Safe Environment Lessons, I am sure that an Option C went out about this, but if not you can contact the office for the detailed description of what this is about. If you choose to opt out of this lesson please let the office know.

  • No School next Monday

Any questions about anything above just email or text and I will get right back to you.

Mr. G
